Here are the bulletins for the Holy Thursday and Good Friday Services. We’ve got two special worship services planned which will help you take in all of the celebration of Easter. Also, I’ve posted some thoughts over at Twentystone about what scriptures we’ll be looking at as we celebrate.
Speaking of Easter, we’ve got a new sticker on the home page to King’s Thrift. Tim Brieaddy will be here on Sunday to report on how the work is proceeding at the thrift store, and how GPC can be a part.
The Winston-Salem Journal included an article this morning regarding Family Promise of Forsyth County’s ministry which is set to get underway this summer and of which GPC is a supporting member. You can read the article here, and the ministry’s website is here. Along with being a host church, GPC will be participating in the Cardboard Box City fundraiser on April 24. More info coming.
Here’s a video about the national ministry which is called the Inter-Faith Hospitality Network.
Also, GPC sermons are back on iTunes, and you can subscribe to the podcast on the “listen” page or from the iTunes store.
King’s Thrift is moving forward and their website is up and running. You’ll love Tim’s picture on his first blog post, trust me. Incidently, a number of our number will be going to down to Waughtown to continue to help prepare for their April 15 opening. Give Tim a call if you’d like to help.
Just a reminder, the Mission’s Team is hosting a fish fry on Sunday following the worship service.
There’s a lot going on this week through the weekend at GPC.
Today’s Wednesday and tonight we have Vertical (MS Youth) from 6-7:30 and Weds Night Kids and ACE Dig (Adult Bible study) from 6:30-7:30.
Our Community Garden Planning Team is moving forward, and if you’re interested in helping get our garden started, come Thursday evening to the building at 7pm.
On Friday night (7-9pm) and Saturday morning (9-Noon), we will be hosting our inquirer’s class, Rooted in Grace. If you are interested in finding out more about GPC and our denomination, the PCA this will help. Additionally, Rooted in Grace is the first step in becoming a new member.
Saturday morning several from our church will be going to King’s Thrift in Waughtown to do some work at the thrift store. Call Tim Brieaddy if you are interested.
Saturday night from 7pm till 9, twentiesgpc will be headed over to Countryside Lane for a little Gauche Bowling or Non-dominant Ten Pins. In other words, we’re not professional bowlers. Cost for bowling is $3 for shoes and $3 per game.
Lastly, on Sunday following the worship service, we will have a Fish Fry Dinner to raise monies for the Cherokee mission’s team. Suggested donation is $5 per adult and $3 per child with a maximum of $20 per family. The menu consists of flounder, baked potato, slaw, roll, and banana pudding; corn dogs and chips are available for those children who don’t like fish.
So, there’s a lot going on, eh? Take the opportunity to serve and get to know someone this week.
