New Sermon Series

This Sunday we begin a new series which will continue through the fall on the book of Deuteronomy. The book of Deuteronomy was the foundation beneath the revivals under kings Hezekiah and Josiah, and it was the theological center of the prophet’s preaching. You would not be wrong to say that Deuteronomy is the heart of the Old Testament. But it does not stop there. Deuteronomy holds the heart of Jesus’ preaching too. I am looking forward to this series which I’ve titled With All Our Heart in which we will be looking at what a heart of devotion looks like but in which we also will see the love of God. This week we will be looking at verses 1:1-5 and four things you need to know about Deuteornomy.

Grace Sundays

As the school year gets underway activities for children, youth, and adults resume. Check out Grace Kernersville’s Church Center Page and see what events are taking place and what is on the calendar. There are small groups for adults which meet during the week. There will be a Women’s Wednesday Evening Bible Study beginning September 7 at 7pm. Grace Kids and Youth begin meeting on Sunday, September 11 at 4:30pm, and there is more.

Carryout for Cougars

In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, Grace Kernersville provides weekend backpack meals for students in need. This Summer, the food program called, Carryout for Cougars BackPack Food Program, received a $1500 grant from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed Cash Elementary Children. Grace is using the gift to provide students non-perishable food items for weekend breakfasts and lunches.

Thank you Food Lion and the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation!

You may sign up to help pack and deliver backpacks through the school year via the Church Center App

Behind the Curtain

Teaching Elder Tim Brieaddy has been doing an excellent job teaching on the book of Revelation. Revelation is a look behind the veil of circumstance and appearance into the reality of the cosmos as it really is. In the real world, Jesus, the lion-lamb who is worthy, who has been given all authority, and who bears the marks of being slain, rules over all creation.

I would like to invite you to join us at 9:30am as we continue to peak behind the curtain on Sunday mornings to hear about the best news one can every hear.

Resources for Rev Brieaddy’s class are available via link in this week’s e-newsletter.

Below is a helpful summary of where we’ve been and where we are headed.
