The women's ministry team meets once a month on average (usually on Wed. nights following the church program). We organize, plan and implement women's events and opportunities.
The Women's Ministry Team consists of women from all stages of life who feel called by God to minister to the women of Grace Presbyterian Church. Members of the team commit to attending as many team meetings as possible and helping to implement our events. In addition members commit to praying for this ministry and the women of Grace and seeking God’s will for it. To join our team, contact a current member to inquire about the next meeting date and time and attend the meeting. You can join at that time or at a later date. You membership term can end at anytime thereafter.
Team leadership is shared among our group. It is the team’s desire to have consensus in all decisions. However, after discussion and prayer, if consensus can not be built, the team will rely on majority rule. New ideas, suggestions and decisions such as event content, Bible Study Leaders, Retreat speakers, salad supper speakers, retreat worship team leaders etc are after each member has prayed individually and corporately with the team. We ultimately seek God’s will in choosing these people but in general we look for women who are passionate about God, His Word and the women of our church body. And we look for evidence of these things in their daily life as well as in their involvement within our church.
Currently we have a designated Meeting Facilitator that facilitates meetings with the agenda given to her by the Secretary.
The Secretary of our team takes the minutes of our meeting, maintains a record of past minutes and other things we may need to refer back to such as publicity flyers and program outlines. The Secretary also maintains a calendar of our events and as the record keeper keeps the group on track for what plans need to be made and when as well as deadlines for decisions.
Our team also has a Treasurer that keeps in constant communication with the church secretary as to whether or not our budget has enough to cover the retreat costs, Friday AM Bible Study materials and caregivers as well as other budget needs that we may have. She also keeps records of our receipts for end of the year budget planning.
Team Members can bring items for the agenda as needed to any meeting at any time.
The Secretary, Meeting Facilitator and Treasurer's terms of service are not limited. Officers are elected by the Team at the January meeting.
The commitment for Bible Study leaders is for one year of Friday morning Bible Study.
The commitment for Retreat Leaders (Speaker, Worship Leader, Small Group Leader etc.) is for the necessary preparation for the retreat and for the duration of the retreat. The women that occupy these roles can vary from year to year or they may be the same from year to year depending on team consensus.
